It is always a good game when the Bears and the Bulldogs get together and the 2015 matchup was no exception to the rule. The Bears (5-1) were ranked #7 in the state and the Bulldogs (6-0) were ranked #2 coming into the contest.

Rifle scored first and led 7-0 at halftime. Palisade evened the score in the third quarter and Rifle went back ahead with a minute left in the third. The 4th quarter was a classic with Palisade moving the ball on multiple occasions but coming up empty from the Rifle 10 yard line as time expired.

Thanks as always to 1340/1490 AM who lets us mic them up for every game to record their great play-by-play calls of Rifle Bears football. If you can’t make an upcoming game, be sure to tune into 1490 AM in Rifle. You can also check them out at for live streaming of each and every Rifle football game. Alex Hafer and crew always do an amazing job. Unfortunately, on Thursday there was interference in our recording system and we weren’t able to use their broadcast. Thankfully Ron Milhorn and Jack Jabber from KMTS were at the game and let us use their call of the contest.
