The Rifle Bears will put their perfect 5-0 record on the line this Thursday against the Grand Junction Central Warriors at Stocker Stadium in Grand Junction. The game will kick off at 7:00 PM. The Warriors are 1-4 on the year and are making their debut in the Colorado class 3A West Slope League this season. Last week they dropped a road game against the Steamboat Sailors by a score of 47-26.
The Warriors offense has been solid, scoring 30.4 points a game in 2014. The defense, however, has given up 38.2 points per game.
On offense, quarterback Wyatt McElwain (#12) is the catalyst. His 428 yards rushing lead the Warriors and his 586 yards passing bring balance to the Warriors rushing game.
On defense, the Warriors are led by Tonka Littlefawn (#26). His 34 tackles lead the team and he also is Central’s leading scorer with 36 total points.
